More than half of all fish eaten today is farmed and demand for fish continues to climb exponentially on a global scale. As capture fisheries have become obsolete, fish farming has emerged as the only option for meeting the future demand of sea food products. One of the fastest growing industries in today’s economy, Aquaculture projects have sprouted all over the North American map. Given the vulnerability to major losses, it is surprising that Aquaculture organizations in North America have very little insurance options if any at all. The Aquaculture Insurance Exchange (A.I.E.) was created to fill this very void of insurance products for the booming Aquaculture industry of Northern America. Currently, Aquaculture insurance products are readily available in Europe, South America and parts of East Asia.
